General Knowledge

  • Aims & Objectives
    • To create an awareness of the world around us.
    • To develop observation skills.
    • To develop an inquiring mind.
    • To gain knowledge about various essential topics.
 

Environmental Education

  • Std. 1
    Topics begin with ‘Myself’ – creating an awareness about oneself, parents, family, neighbours, and finally ending with the environment. Students complete a lot of worksheets related to these topics.
  • Std. 2
    Topics from Std. 1 are graded and continued at a slightly higher level. Students draw pictures on various topics and teachers help them understand and read new words by naming things on their pictures.
  • Std. 3
    Topics are linked to nature and the environment and we aim to create awareness. For example, ‘The Beach’ was selected as a theme and children had to collect information on pollution and protection of beaches, marine life, erosion, etc. Children were also taken for a walk on the beach and then given a worksheet to fortify information.
  • Std. 4
    Teachers plan topics and worksheets are created accordingly. Students work on these topics, sometimes in the form of projects, which are guided by teachers. These topics kindle creativity and help instill values.

Hindi

    • Conversing in the language.
    • Building vocabulary and spelling accurately through the use of appropriate matras.
    • Building reading skills and ability to understand the given text.
    • Memorising and reciting short poems expressively. 
    • Writing grammatically-correct sentences.
    • Expressing original ideas through simple sentences.
    • Answering simple questions correctly.
    • Organising and sequencing thoughts.
    • Building confidence in the usage of the language.
    • Building values.

Mathematics

  • Aims & Objectives
    • To help acquire and consolidate fundamental number concepts and skills which are essential for number work.
    • To develop numerical ability to solve day to day problems.
    • To enable participation in the learning process.
    • To make the learning process interesting, easy and stimulating through hands-on activities.
    • To develop skills of observation through co-operative and individual learning.

Physical Education

  • Aims & Objectives

    To improve discipline, swiftness, energy, strength, good muscle control over the nervous system, muscle coordination and to increase functioning of the body.

Science

  • Aims & Objectives

    To create awareness of our natural surroundings and what happens in factual form.

Singing

  • Students from Stds. 1 to 4 have two singing periods every week during which they learn new songs which encourages their musical sense and also rejuvenates them, being a welcome change from routine tasks. Students also learn to express themselves in a more musical way.

Social Studies
